Coffee Corner

Imagine a smooth, rich aroma with notes of caramel and chocolate wafting through the air, the drip of espresso, the whirl of milk being frothed. That symphony of coffee is part of my every day - whether it's a cup in the morning as the sun comes up and the house is still quiet, or a post-lunch latte. There's something so artisanal about coffee - the labor that goes into growing and roasting the beans, the specific steps to brew the perfect cup, the frothed and foamed milk that is delicately poured in a perfect pattern.

I love adding a designated coffee corner into a kitchen design. You don't need much space to create a curated nook that's equipped for caffeine and with a few touches, you can "café" away.

Start by choosing a coffee machine. Find one that fits your preference for espresso vs. coffee (or both!) In the past, I used the Breville Barista Pro but recently switched to the Nespresso CitiZ Original Espresso Machine by De'Longhi. Next, outfit your corner with any accessories you'll need. I love using frothed Cashew Milk for lattes and have been using this incredible handheld milk frother. I pour a little milk into a beautiful jug, heat it, and give it a whirl - perfect foam in seconds! Lastly, add your serving vessel of choice - mugs, teacups, glasses, etc. I often use these stunning coffee cups from Studio PietBoon and display them on open shelving.

You don't need to plan space like this specifically into a kitchen design. If you're moving into a new home there are plenty of pockets to personalize if you just use your imagination.
