Master Bedroom Design + Details
A bedroom should be a place of comfort, safety, and style. A space where you feel completely at ease that sets the tone to both start and finish your day. When designing this Master Bedroom, I had to factor in having the Master Bathroom and Master Closet in the same space without it feeling crowded. I wanted each area of the room to be both distinguishable yet transition smoothly.
I balanced my minimalistic style with airy and inviting touches. The plush, cloud-like bed frame, pillows, and linens coordinated with wooden accent furniture while strong, stated pieces of marble blended with delicate glass and feminine fixtures. I chose to carry clean, white shiplap throughout the room on certain walls and cabinetry to create a cohesive design.
The Master Closet is tucked back against the farthest wall of the room while still being accessible. I wanted the closet to be special in its own way and create an incredibly organized and polished area. (I have an entire blog post dedicated to the Master Closet — you can read it here!)
Light is such an important element for a bedroom which is why I chose to incorporate tall, floor to ceiling windows. These windows look out onto the private, Master Bedroom patio that is lined with pear trees and beautiful greenery, creating a grounding, peaceful addition to this space.
My vision for this Master Bedroom was a space that was soft and refined yet organized and crisp. It's sophisticated while still having that necessary laid-back feel.
